Montreal police examine after pictures fired in east-end schoolyard

Montreal police have launched an investigation after shots were fired late Sunday in the yard of an east-end elementary school.

Police reported no injuries and no arrests had been made by Monday afternoon in connection with the incident.

Officers were sent to the school at Pierre-de-Coubertin and Carignan Aves. in the city’s Hochelaga-Maisonneuve district after a 911 call at 10:15 p.m. reported shots fired at the site by individuals who then fled the scene.

By 11:45 p.m., a canine unit had found spent shell casings and a crime-scene perimeter was set up.

Police will interview witnesses as their investigation continues.
