Win Habs, but lose Gallagher

It was a surprising win for the Canadians – but it could have come at a high price. Seasoned center Eric Staal, who played his first game for Montreal after his recent move from Buffalo, scored 4:02 overtime and gave Montreal a 3-2 win over the Edmonton Oilers at the Bell Center on Monday night. The win was tempered, however, as Montreal lost spark plug winger Brendan Gallagher with a right hand injury in the first period after being hit by a shot from defender Alexander Romanov.
