Knowing how much money went straight into the hands of multinational delivery giants rather than local restaurants during the pandemic is enough to satisfy anyone’s appetite. However, increasing pressure from battered local restaurants, industry associations and even Mayor Valérie Plante means that delivery restrictions may be in preparation for Quebec. Meanwhile, many restaurants across the city have turned to local alternatives like Chk Plz, Radish, and RestoLoco for their less prohibitive fees. However, there are others who have chosen to do their own deliveries and keep profits and jobs in-house.
